silencer ring

Default silencer ring

so i took my intake off and uh whoever has taken there silencer ring off is ****in crazy, how can you possiby get that off without breaking the fins off your turbo, you can barely fit a piece of paper in between the fins and the turbo, who has a 6.7 and how did you get the silencer ring off

The silencer on the 6.7 is different from the 5.9.

The 6.7 has pins instead of a snap ring. You'd have to drill the pins out.

From other locations I've heard taking the ring out on the 6.7 doesn't make much of a difference anyhow because of the variable fins.

yeah i know its different the 5.9 has a snap ring that holds it on this one has those little pins in it, but my question is how have those guys that just break the ring off do it without breaking fins, i thought about drilling the pins out but after looking at it, you can only get to one of the pins anyway, what about the other two. and also if your gonna drill out the pins, i'd be really scared of getting metal shavings in the turbo housing.... that would suck bigtime, so i guess if you really want to get it off you would have to take the turbo off where you could get to the other 2 pins... am i right or does someone else have a better idea
