Default Fuel additives

Ok, I have seen some post about fuel additives and was wondering if it is safe on the 6.7 with the ULSD? If so what would you recommend using.

with the poor fuel we have to fill up with anymore... it's almost imparitive to use additives. My choice.... Stanadyne.

my understanding about the 6.7's is that they should not have anything added to the **** poor fuel. it will mess with the emissions control crap they now carry.

I've seen it said that you can NOT run any additives in a 6.7 but, I've also seen where people have run it since their truck was new without issue. What do you do if you live where it gets cold enough for the fuel to gel ?? You have to use some sort of additive for that. IMO, if I had a 6.7 I'd run a additive but that's me. Stanadyne is one of the best there is out there and a lot of testing has gone into it. The best thing to do is ask Cummins, they would know better than D/C. Although, D/C does have your warranty[:@]

I've been running Power Service Diesel Kleen +Cetane Boost in my 6.7 for a few months with no problems so far. I live in south Louisiana so no need for anti-gel additive.

I live about 1 hour outside of Houston so Gelling should not be an issue for me either. I do however make runs to Lousianna, oklahoma, and New Mexico also. Just wondering about it thanks for the info will definately keep it in mind. Standadyne or Power Service Diesel Kleen +Cetane Boost . Are these available at local part stores?

Thanx white fury, had some encouragement here from Triton and Shrax. Kind of different on a dually though?

Anyway, back to the tread, I have had more than one positive opinion regarding Stanadyne as a leading additive product. Unfortuneatly, only a reconized dealer can sell it, not the box stores.

Best of the Holidays and Merry Christmas.........I'm off to the deer camp again lookin for big daddy!
