Drew, I have a 2000 Chrysler 300M. I've been running Amsoil engine oil for years, but several months ago I changed the transmission fluid, differential lube, and power steering fluid over to Amsoil synthetic. I also flushed the cooling system and used Amsoil propylene glycol antifreeze. It cost about $90 for all the Amsoil stuff. My fuel economy improved by a little more than 1 MPG, which is great. The best thing, though, is that the transmission shifts better and the PS pump doesn't make that groaning noise anymore.
When I serviced my transmission I used Amsoil ATF and noticed a big difference right away in how it shifted and that was with 6.5 qt's of it in there. I also noticed my wife’s 06 Sebring gets better fuel mileage now that it has Amsoil 0w20 in it. Now if Dodge would just put a V6 Cummins diesel in the Charger I’d buy one for my wife to drive!

Gentlemen,
My first post. My first Dodge. First civilian Diesel. I've been lurking for awhile, and learning alot (I hope). I've tried Drew's Brew (no noticeable improvement. Truck has 96,000mi now. I'm thinking about Redline in all locations. What is best for diffs (75-140, Shockproof Light or Shockproof Heavy)?? What about the Tranny and Transfer Case (MTL, MTL 90, or what)??Once I get all the Drew's Brew emptied I'm going to try PS and 2 Cycle, then just 2 Cycle.
On another note, When I start up the Voltage gauge stays low (above 12v, but below 14v) is this normal??? when it's below 60 deg out?? Thanks
I have removed the silencer ring and gutted the muffler prior to the turbo GREAT Turbo sound, again....Thanks

your voltage gage is normal. . .when the grid heater is cycling it will drop below 12v, when it turns off it will go above 12v.

unless your towing 75-90 is fine. . .you can go to 75-120 is you want, however if you tow alot, or heavy then thats when the 140 would be reccomended. the transfer case takes regular ATF, however you have to be VERY carefull about what you put into the tranny. that NV5600 is extreemly picky with the oil you put in or you will damage the bearings and syncros. AMSoil 5w30MTF is actualy designed for the NV5600 in mind. I have it in mine right now and it works pretty well. I believe pensoil syncromesh is another good oil to put into the tranny. just remember, the NV5600 does not use gear oil like may other trannies, it uses a lighter weight oil.

Thanks Drew, I noticed after I asked about the voltage, another thread had just started as well. I' still interested in what Redline products people are using in their trucks. It seems MTL+MTL90, MTL with FM in trans (NV5600). What about auto trans in transfer, there are as much auto trans fluids as there are motor oils. The diffs ....other than Shockproof Light, Shockproof Heavy or 75-90.
I'm not knocking Amsoil, but have had better luck in my previous vehicles with Mobil1 and Redline, especially my Harleys. I'm trying to keep just a few types of oil in stock.
Again thanks everyone for your input and patience, I've learned alot these past 3 months and hope to learn more.

thats not a problem. . .I just know the amsoil numbers since thats what I'm running in my truck.

anyway I forgot to put in that you need ATF +4 for the transfer.
if you are going with redline, use the MTL.
