Default Tranny problems

has anyone had this problem? My truck will shift back and forth from 1st to 2nd at 10-15 mph only when I am just putting. Dodge states that they are aware of the problem and are waiting for a software up date. They say that it will not hurt any thing and if I want I can use the gear selector to shift manually.

My 2006 doesn't do that. I get stuck in rush hour traffic a lot and it seems to do ok with changing the gears.

There are a lot of variables there that will influence the shifting...

Throttle position, Engine load, Speed, all play a factor.

Is the road hilly? Are the RPM's low? Etc?

I almost always leave mine in T/H mode, jsut because I like the shift program much better. The normal shift program seems too mushy to me and it does bonce around a bit. The T/H mode makes much firmer shifts, holds the gears longers, locks up in 3rd gear and overall just feels (to me) more like what a truck tranny should feel like.

The auto on my 06 I swear has ODD...it can never make up it's mind in which gear it wants to be in. I can be doing the EXACT same speed (on cruise control even) and the road will change and it will start shifting grears. It is almost fun to try and guess when it is going to shift now

Turning on the Jake or droppin T/H mode chagnes the pattern and it shifts much better.

If you find a flash to re-program the shift points let me know.

Doesn't matter if it is on a hill or not, and yes it is at low RPM if I take off fast it will not shift back and forth.

Battery terminals and all grounds are in great condition, the truck only has 18K on it

sounds like a position sensor problem, the other thing is if your feathering the throttle at that speed and the converter doesnt have enough pressure to make up it's mind. maybe mashing it......[&:] just a thought

Dodge did acknowledge the problem, they are waiting for a software update. However if I put it in tow-haul it does not do it. If I hammer on it in any mode it is fine it is only when I am putting up my street in the morning or if I am stuck in traffic.
