$108 for 15 quarts of 15-40 amsoiland an amsoil filter. labor... free. 16 year old diesel mechanic in the making...

 

he wouldent be interested in doing some work on my truck would he?

 

I paid about 70 bucks for the amsoil 15w-40 and 11 for the stratapore filter. Labor is done by me(I have the scars to prove it)

 

I haven't changed mine yet but I will in the future. I pay $53 for a LOF and a superior car wash ($25 value) so I think its a decent deal at the carwash by my house. I get coupons for the $50 change at the dealer.

 

The last time i was at a dealer I was having a new oil pan installed after a botched oil change from Pep Boys ( Pep Boys did make good on their mistake though and paid for the whole thing with no problems at all ). After that nightmare, I went back to changing my own oil with Rotella T and a Fleetguard Strat filter. The filter is 9 bucks and I think the oil is also 9 bucks a gallon, but i can't remember.

 

In OK I paid $60 dollaarsfor an oil Change at the dealer, in CA I paid $95 for the same thing.

 

I payed 69.99 at a jiffylube in WV, Rotella oil. I am going to have them do it until the warrany runs out, then I will do it myself. I changed the fuel filter the other night , it cost me 16.95 for the filter.

 

Do mine own, 3 gallons Rotella T and filter from geno's, 3 grease points all under $40.

 

I'm in British Coulmbia,Canada. I paid $20 for mopar oil Filter and $80 for conventional oil at local dealer. I now use Fleetguard stratapore filter $15 and full synthetic rotella 5W40 for $75 and I change the oil myself.
Hey parts guy have you ever seen the specifications for the Mopar Oil Filters. I got into a heated discussion with the local dealer when he told me that I had to use Mopars oil filter or I would void my warranty. I told him that if he could show me the specifications for the Mopar oil filter to compare it with Fleetguards filter that I might reconsider. They had no specifications and their filter costs more than Fleetguards. The dealer charged me $45 or the Mopar Fuel Filter Fleetguard is $18.
