Default whats your 2 cents??

well, finally hooking up the 10 grand snap on code reader scanner thing, it shows the in 0/D OFF that lock up is smooth in 1 - 3 rd and does not go into 4th of course. Showing that with O/D ON it has a "busy" 3rd 4th and that COMPUTER is telling it to shift and unlock. So the TC is fine! Here is the way I am being told to try and fix it. I am heading to the dealer on WEDNESDAY to have them flash my TCM?? transmission module? (if that is right). Do you think this is going to work and get it right? I Drive it around town now with O/D OFF and lockup is fine and never messes up. With O/D ON it does it only in 3rd going to 4th for the most part and sometimes in a lower gear.

Here is me second question. I understand I have to unhook the EDGE and bring the smarty back to stock before it is flashed so it doesnt get messed up. Do I have to UNHOOK EVERTHING? on the EDGE? or just the parts that go to the engine. Like leave the EGT probe and tranny temp senor in and just unhook the map senor and what not?

thanks for you input!

I don't think that you have a trans control module. The PCM is what you need flashed. I konw that this may sound crazy, but try cleaning your battery cables, and making sure that your alternator is grounded good. I have seen both of these cause the problem that you are having. Crazy I know but try it anways. You will need to set smarty back to stock and unhook the edge. Leaving the EGT and tranny temp sensor is OK. Anything that you have "programmed" into the PCM will be erased. If you don't return the Smarty to stock, you will lose it....

Sounds like dirty or loose batt connections and grounds just as parts/service mentioned. I would clean them all up before taking it to the dealer and see if that fixes the problem.

what are the plugs that i need to unplug before they flash my truck....i know the map senor? but what are the others? i know that i DONT need to unplug the senors...

can i not just unplug the one HUGE plug that plugs into the box itself? wouldnt that be the same as unplugging all the wires??
