Well last night they gathered the whole plant together and said that the steel that we use
has been contaminated and they can't run it.
Soour jobs are still there , but we can no longer work.
I won'tbe able towork until the the 3rd of Jan.
It's bad in many ways, at least I got my Christmas shoppin done and all my bills paid for.
But I only got 30 bucks to go on till Friday. Even once I get that check I gotta stretch it out too.
The Holidays are paid , but all the days in between ain't.
I guess yall be seeing a lot of me . Because this will be the only thing I can afford to do.

I dont know if Kaiser ever had steel plants in Ohio, but when they were in California and Illinois, they never had those "issues" that I know of...

One of my companies customers pulls the same thing during the holidays...shut down everything for two weeks. The guys all have to use their vacation time if they want to get paid during December.

They at least get warning that it is coming though.

Is there anyway that the bosses could do it up like a lay off? At least then you could pull un-employement for a few weeks.

 

well im on a holiday from school thank god!!! as far as work... i wish they would give us a break but its insanity!! look at it as a positive...just lounge around the house and get some R&R

 

i wish i had a vacation for x-mas....
well off to work I go... yes i am going in late today haha

 

Layoffs, even temporary ones really suck. Sorry to hear about your issue.

I had knee surgery last Thursday, and as of last night (Day 7) I could stay at home no longer. My wife said I reminded her of the buzzards sitting in the tree saying "Patience my A**, I'm gonna kill somethin!" I went back to work today even though I didn't have to until next Wednesday. My knee was too sore and itwas too cold to work in the garage so I bit the bullet and went to work. I sit at a desk so for the most part I can handle the knee pain by getting in a comfortable position.

Hope you can enjoy some time off and get a couple small projects done you've been putting off.

 

Your as bad as I am Turkey......I was back to work 5 days (including a weekend) after my ankle reconstruction. Sat at my desk w/ ice packs but I couldn't sit at the house anymore

 

Wow that sucks. What did they just do some sort of sample and realize that they got a bad batch or something? Seems like someone waited until the last minute huh?

I wouldn't mind having something like that happen to me in the summertime, but right smack dab in the middle of Christmas really sucks. You can really go anywhere or do anything.
