I'm going to be ordering some stuff for my gauge installation adn was wondering if anybody knows what size the adaptor needs to be for the boost bolt. I'm guessing it is 10mm to 1/8 npt but I dont know for sure. Also does anybpdy know if cummins sell tapped banjo bolts for a fuel pressure gauge? I was thinking about mounting the sending unit on the fuel inlet of the vp44.
geno's garage sells the bolt that is needed for your boost pickup. now the banjo bolt, you mey be better with a T at the inlet of the VP44. . .which is the best location for monitoring the pressure.
Tapping the head of the bolt would be fine. I'm not sure on clearances though, I recall some of those being a tight fit but I may be thinking of engines with air compressors.
I saw that genos sold the tapped bolts too but honestly I am more worried about the pyro. Unlike mayfair, I am afraid to tap the manifold. I read that the engine will blow most of the junk before the turbo spins and the fact that I have never tapped something doesnt help either. any tips or instructions?
