Default cold weather

ok so going skiing in a few weeks. Coming from NY to VT last time I was there it was -10 degrees F. What does every one use for anti gel? don't want the additives have a 6.7l and they say don't use any additives.

Also have the 15 40 oil and plan on plugging the truck into the rental house, but when away from the plug anything special I need to do?

Thanks getting nervous about the weather when this cold. Ok in NY Long Island when around 10 degrees at the coldest.
Don't want to get stuck and have the wife all pissed.. Or should I just take the gasser and avoid all issues.?

power service white bottle has anti jelling addatives in it that will help keep the fuel from jelling. oh, and if you cannot plug in the grid heater is good for cranking the engine at temps down to -20F.

if you see a bottle of the Power Service 911, red bottle, go head and grab one of them as well. keep it under the seat just incase the white bottle doesnt keep things fluid.

I get all my PS stuff at Wal-Mart...they seem to be the only one around here that carries it.

PS 911 will actually reliquefies gelled fuel. The White bottle will help keep it from gelling...but if something horrible happens.

Wal-mart, most auto supply stores, tractor supply, etc sell power service products. The white bottle is a general anti-gel preventative used typically when you fill up, PS911 is an after its too late additive when things have gelled. In cold climates keep a bottle of 911 in the truck just in case.

The PS does lots and lots of good things. But the big difference between the White & Gray bottle is the gelling factor.

The white bottle of PS does have additional additives for lubrication and to help keep injectors clean, it is ULSD approved and should be fine with the 6.7, just watch your dosage. More is not always better. PS911 is one of those last resort things, it contains alcohol to help break down the wax crystals in the gelled fuel. If the extra additives make you nervous, Amsoil offers a pure Anti-gel. You have to buy from an Amsoil dealer or become a preferred customer to get the product I believe.

the other goodies in the white bottle(increased cetane and lubrication) can help fuel mileage and may keep things moving longer.

since i live in the south where it rarely gets cold enough for diesel to jell I use the grey bottle year round which raises the cetane more then the white bottle
