I was hoping that someone could tell me weather or not I need to update my Smarty with a newer software version, I currently have Version 4.05 D:2.05A

 

you don't have to update if you don't want to but, yes... there's much newer updates available. Revisions have been made to what you have and you might find more power and lower egt's by keeping up with the updates

you should be able to snag the updates from smarty's website or madselectronics.

to update it all you need is a USB A-B cable. . .one end is the regular USB cable, the other is the one that is square.

I tried to update mine this morning, loaded USB driver for Windows XP. The USB driver recognized the Smarty but kept telling me that the software upgrade was not recognised by Smarty. I am not sure weather or not I'm downloading the newest software correctly. I think the issue is with the version of windows that I am running. Anyone have similar problems.

I do remember seeing something about unplugging the network cable while loading the driver or something like that. maybe thats what you need to do.

I'm wondering how it will do on vista. . .
