well just to report back. I wanted to see if there was a difference. so I cut up some cardboard and put them in behind the "honeycomb" and I was definitley impressed with how qhickly it warmed up. definitly half the time. no difference when sitting at idle at warm up.
so it looks like I will be fabricating my own

I am going to try an build a guard for the bumper hole too. so if anyone has one of those I'd like to know how they mount

if anyone that has the inserts for a 3rd gen wants to make templates for me andsend them to me that would be awesome. as the 3rd gen honey comb doesnt come off.

well I think there is plenty of air getting in with out those holes so I dont see an issue
