Tranny Info??
Where can I get some GOOD troubleshooting info on the 47RE?? There seems to be no good diagnostic info available. I have been having trouble with mine for some time. I have had it rebuilt recently, now seems to not have TC lockup...or no OD not sure which. It seems to be shifting into 4th with no lockup on the converter.....no RPM drop like it used to have...........HELP
Just don't do what I mistakenly did when I was searching for rebuld info for an NP 435 trans for my old F250.
I did a google search and included the word "tranny" [:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(]

The solution was to remove and clean the battery cables and bonding wires to the engine and trans. If the trans and electronics aren't properly gounded, then the sensors can't obtain an accurate reading and it won't shift correctly.
Thanks to all, I have heard of and performed all the ground cleanings, The truck is just put back together after the rebuild on the trans, I put in a TCS converter, kevlar bands, heavier clutchs, transgo shift kit. I have all the shifts 1-4 seems like there is no lock up on the converter. The guy that did the rebuild has no idea whats going on with it. There are no codes with the key switch( CEL). There is one code on the digital odometer, I think it was for the turbo though.
I have been under this truck way too much lately. I have changed the shift govenor solenoid prior to rebuild. I switched out the VSS on the tailshaft case. Lil Frogger, thanks for the support...............Randy
