as a die hard ford guy i can answer this ?. i just bought a new 07 5.9. i traded in my 00 powerstroke to do it. the reason i did it was that i need and engine that would still be running when i get to where i am going. i only drive my truck when it is loaded.. 11k pounds..the new ford motors suck plain and simple.. and with all the emissions crap the next year or two might be bad..so i bought a dodge because of the reputation the motor has... BUT the bad.. the dodge rides like **** when it is loaded the ride is so rough it made my neck hurt from bouncing so much.. the ford rode like a dream it was smooth as glas even fully loaded..also i see why they are 20 k cheaper the dash and int panels are cheap looking.. and seats are not as nice.. but over all the dodge isnt bad and pulls awsome.. i just put the vollent intake on yesterday and the4" turbo backis on back order, the edge will be here on monday. so i will get to see what the truck can realy do...what i really want is a 2008 ford daully with a cummings in it and a alison trans... that would be bad ***

 

what kinda question is that? is the cummins any good for pulling. HELL YEAH they are. i've pulled with a 6.0 powerstroke and the 5.9 cummins. the cummins was in a 99 dodge. in the flats the powerstroke might stay with the cummins if the load isn't ridiculous however better be ready to pay for some fuel. throw in a little grade it isn't even fair. the powerstroke is a joke. it wants to scream up the hill. mean while the cummins is just lugging up the hill leaving the stroker in the dust. i've used that 99 to pull 16,000 lbs of anhydrous ammonia. them tanks have floatation tires on them and they don't pull easy. the cummins pulls them anywhere you want to go, on or off road. the only engine i can't say anything about is the duramax and i don't see how it can possiblly stay with a cummins. V8s are for horsepower, speed, I6s are for torque, pulling power.

Hey cumminalong, When do you plan on finishing the 2008 SOF Vid? I want to get a good video to you with alot of smoke and melted rubber but I just haven't had the time to do it.

 

I won't be doing the video this year.

In South America I don't have internet at the house and my work connection is only a 128K SHARED connection.

Not to mention the fact that this site (and almost anything else forum wise) is blocked.

I can't remember who was doing the video this year.

 

No worries. I had Diablo since May 07. May have been too late. either way I can wait. I am sure Diablo can as well. 09 will be a bad *** Show of force as there is a lot of new talent around.

 

Oh yeah, it had been done for a while at that point.

Whoever is doing the vid this year, start getting the pics and vids together for him. I had to skip a few folks that had good stuff simply because they got it to me a little too late and the video was already pretty firmed up.
