I believe the Fleetguard Stratapore is a step above the Fleetguard filter that mopar rebrands.

Yes fleetguard does make the Mopar filter. I asked the local dealers for the filter performance specification for the Mopar filter they could not provide me with the information, therefore I went with the fleetguard Stratpore filter which is cheaper than the Mopar filter. The dealer told me that I had to use the Mopar filter our I would void my warranty. I told them if they could supply me with the Mopar filter performance specifications so that I could compare them to the Fleetguards Stratapore filter I might reconsider. I told them that if I was going to pay more for the Mopar filter I wanted to know that I was getting a superior filter for the extra money. They have never supplied me with this information. I am running the Stratapore or Microglass filter from Fleetguard. You might want to check out Fleetguards fuel filter way cheaper than Mopars'.

THere is no way they would void your warranty for using a fleetguard filter. Its crazy they said that.

The there are federal laws prohibiting Dodge, or any other vehiclemanufacture, from requiring you to use1 brand of filter, or any other replacement part as long asthe aftermarket unit meets or exceeds the minimum spec's as set forth from thevehicle manufactureat time of development. thus not voiding any warranty.

I use the filters that I feel are the best protection for my truck. I cant believe some of the stupid things that the dealers try to tell you. I got into a pretty heated discussion with this particular dealer about this and also about the ball joints on this truck. This service technician is telling me that I have to use the Mopar Filter and he does not have any technical information on the filter. I had another so called mechanic change the automatic transmission fluid on my sons' truck and not change the filter, when we asked him why he didn't change the filter he said that thier was no need to, they never change the filters. I told him that the service manual instructs you to chnage the filter also. Does that mean that you would never change the filter I asked, he told me that he has never done a transmission filter on any of his personal vehicles.

the mopar filters for our trucks is just a rebranged Fleetguard Standard filter. the strattapore filter is a better filter and captures smaller particles in the oil than the standard/rebranded mopar filter.
