Default Need a little electrical help

I was wondering if anyone knows were I can buy a 12v to 115v converter that is permanently attached to the vehichle. I know that there are the kind that hook to your 12v outlet, I have a few. But the new Honda truck and pilot have just a 110v receptical in the back. I would like to put one on the back of my center console for laptop and games. I have done many google's looking for such an item, with no luck. Iwould thinkby now that should be an item all the tuner guys would want. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

They are pretty common, but you will have to find a way to make a nice looking outlet for the back of your console. These types typically have more wattage that the smaller units that plug into your cigarette lighter. If you don't need much power and you have this type already you can just cut off the end and wire it straight to your fuse box.

You can buy the one's you hard wire, a 400 watt might be enough for you , figure out the rating's of your equipment your using, amps x 110 will tell the watts needed.

Now you might have to modify it to fit your needs

Kevin did you even read the question? You guys kill me sometimes..... I appreciate the help from everyone. I guess I could just mount the thing inside the console and maybe pull the cover off and cut out the vinyl were the plug goes. Still might look kinda crappy.

I am guilty of only reading the top 1/2 of your post.

I figured once you had the unit, that any mods could be done afterwards.

Im not quite sure what you truck insides look like. I would mount the inverter under the hood or run heavy lines to the passenger compartment from the battery . then install a receptacle with a flip up protective cover . they can be painted any color.

there are so may ways to concieve and produce your desired outcome, I just decided to start with the base euipment needed.

this link was blocked by my security protocals , so I am not able to see what is considered.

the biggest thing to remember is that the inverter needs AIR to cool. placement becomes tricky unless you can install "fresh air" fans to cool it off.

Converter must stay cool. [:@]Thats going to be the hard part on the install. I have the center console in my CTD. I want to put the 110v face plate on the back panel facing the back seat. I can get the converter in there (under the console) trim the plastic to make it look nice but cooling could be a little tricky. I would think that they (car electronic dealers) have to have just the receptical aspect of theunit with long leads to theconverter. So far no luck.
