Default Trans shifting

Hi,1998 12 Valve 3/4 ton Auto Trans.
The trans is shifting back and forth at35mph and around 55mph under no load, shift into overdrive at 2750RPM. Someone told me it might be the TPS. Might at $250 is pricey. Does anyone have any help, or troubleshooting for the TPS? Thanks Neal

this is a trick from the 24 valves. . .check your battery grounds and main chassis ground. clean them off or replace if needed.

If you have a 12 valve diesel, The tps can be cked witha DRB3. What happens when a tps goes bad, you will driving at freeway speeds in overdrive and the transmission will down shift to 3rd or even 2nd gear and back to o/d. With DRB3 key on engine off move the throttle half throttle a see if the tps reads 100 percent, if it does replace the tps. That only on the 12 valve motor. Dodge also have 1998 1/2 which started the 24 valve motor and the app sensor which is the tps for this motor.

It is a 12V. What is a DRB3? All I have is a code reader. Can you purchase this tool from Sears or Sanpon? The shifting also seems to be affected at 35mph uder no load. Under a load it doesn't shift as much. Thanks for the help.
