I saw on another site that you can addOEM vanity and ashtray lights.

Anyonedone this or know the OEM part numbers?

 

What year truck are you talking about?
There are no Mopar lights for the ashtray or anywhere below the dash that I am aware of. There are lots of aftermarket LED kits out there but Dodge did not make these lights for the 3rd gen trucks. Don't hold me to that but thats what I have been told and I have searched for them but they don't seem to exist.

plasma glow has 12 inch LED strips that could easily be cut and placed there (I think I want the green ones ). Think buzzy just made a post about some that he found also.

As for the factory one from the lighting package...go to Dodgeparts.com....they've got it listed as 06 and up ... you've got an 05 right?

Lilfrogger,yea, I have an '05 and I can't find it at dodgeparts.com but maybe an '06 set would fit. I think they made some small changes to the interior as well as bodies in that year which may be why mine doesn't have them.

I am hoping Parts/Service sees this and has some answers.

 

Im not sure what your asking , but I have a 06 mega cab and it has a green light that lights up the center console from below the dash. You cant see the light but it shines down on the console.

 

Vanity lightsthat turn on when the door is open and shines in the foot area under the dash and a light that comes on when the ash tray is open

 

I wish they showed a picture. I don't have the frip down console. My console is permanently mounted to the froor with the 4x4 shifter. Be nice to know what that part fits.

 

I installed 1 white led with a 470 ohm resistor in line and tied it to the dash lights... works perfect. installed it next to the latch mechanisim. if you go with anything much bigger than a single led, you'll have problems locating a good spot to put it.

 

buzzy, not sure how you havent seen these lights. its a little green glow tucked up under the lip, that turns on whenever parking/head lights are on. feel up under there and see if there is a square hole or a textured plastic "lenz"

 

the dash is different than yours... he's got an '05, what you show looks like an '06 or newer. the '05's had a light there as an option and I think you can get the parts to do the install... but for under $5 bux, the led solution works great.
