Default brakes/abs and ODO

The short of my first question is, is their a front wheel speed sensor on a 1999 dodge ram. If you have time please read on.

I suspect i have two seperte issues here, and not sure how to track either of them down at this point.

I had a wheel speed sensor in the rear end that went bad, it gave the usual symptoms abs light on, speedo only worked at about 40 mph and up. That has been replaced but the abs does not work. The light is off. Last night while trying to check it out, i noticed that the when you really jump the breaks the pedal will go down about half way then grab hard and lock up the tires. In normal breaking the pedal is at the top. any ides?

Maybe another clue, not sure but the ODO located in the overhead console has not worked since i have owned the truck, but i bought the truck with these brake problems. I would like to fix that as well, so again looking for help. All other instruments work.

Thanks Jeff

front wheel sensors are located in the hub. you have to take off the rotor and caliper to get to the sensor.....someone will be along shortly to answer the other question...........Dallas

Default RE: brakes/abs and ODO

well i am still working on this thing. I can't a wire or a sensor any place around the front wheels. Should i be able to find wiring to the hubs to at least give me an idea of were it is i am supposed to be? I have had this apart. This a 4*4. doest that change anything. Their is some sort of sensor in the axle housing on the passenger side, can some on tell me what that is? ONe more thought do all dodge rams with abs have 4 wheel anti lock brakes or do they only have this on the back. I was reading the haynes manual and it makes reference to real wheel anti lock breaks. Thanks again. Jeff
