rear end ratio
i think this has been asked before but i can't find it, is the 4.10 ratio an option? and if you had that gear setup would it be marked on your dealer prep sheet? my '07 ctd 4x4 has posi, which is marked on the dealer sheet, but from what i understand the 3.73 ratio is standard, and that i would surmise is what i have, any help would be great.
Should be on the dealer's window sticker, or I think you can open the glovebox and there is a sticker that has the info on the gears. (I think). I know I saw a sticker somewhere in the cab.
I have an 06 1 ton dually 6 speed manual, and I don't have any indication of what kind of rear end is in my truck. I'm thinking I have 4:10's. due to the fact that at 75mph my rpms' are about 2300-2400. My bro who has a 06 ford has the 3:73's or whatever Ford has says at the same speed he's at 2200 rpms. Not much of a difference I didn't think. He would rather have the lower ratio for pulling is monster camper.

that's my whole mix, with 3.73 i'm at 13,500 lbs. with 4.10 i raise the bar to 15,500, well worth the 2 grand to change everything over. that also gives me an eighty grand truck, what da **** it's only money.

you actualy have 3.73's. All manual shift trucks built after Jan 05 have the G56 transmission, and due to the gear ratios of the G56, the 4.10 ratio would be geared WAY too high to even think about running on the highway. Those trucks built before that however have the NV5600 tranny and have the option of 4.10's.
