post new fuel delivery system mpg
So I got my truck back on Tuesday after a 9 week ordeal with my insurance company and dealership. My insurance co. agreed to pay 15K to have the fuel delivery system replaced after it was determined that I had some kind of fuel contamination. So before the repairs,I was getting 22-23mpg, now, after the repairs, I am getting around 15mpg. What's the deal?
an 06 getting 15 MPG....how many miles you got on the ODO? What kind of fuel additives you running? What kind of driving are you doing? You got a load on it? Is that milage hand-calced or going by the overhead?

I would be tickled pink to be getting 15 mpg on my 06. If you were getting 20-23 mpg before that is totally amazing. WOW. I would be mad too.

I don't know how it's logical but when I had an injector replaced the best I could do mileage wise was about 16. After I drove it for a while it started climbing again and got up to about 20. Then the holidays ( bunch of short trips in cold weather) and a tank of crappy fuel has brought me back down a little. Drive it and work it if you can it should start getting better.
I asked the tech at my dealer if our ECM had a learning or adaptive type brain and he said no, but they did have my batteries disconected to work on it and my mileage did get better after several tanks of fuel and some towing of my camper.

OK...thanks for the insight. I guess I'll just drive it and hopefully I see some improvement in mpgs. Any chance that they could have screwed something up with the reinstall of the ecm?
