Default Trailer Brake Controller

Still waiting on my new truck but was wondering if the new duallys are pre-wired for a brake controller. I did order the tow package.

Also, what do you guy\gals think is the best controller to get...Any install info would help alo..Thanks in advance.

Yes ,if you in the glove box you see the connector for a brake controller.

Some brake controllers also have wiring you can buy they makes it plug and play, but it not that hard to wire either.

Spend the money up front and get a good one that is proportional to the braking force needed, the cheaper one's and yes I have one,all I could findquick local, they work by coming on in three stages when the brake lights come on, it works but you get more brake control with the better kind and they won't be grabby or weak.

I have the Prodigy. Big improvement over my last one. I ordered here with the wiring harness.

I have a Tekonsha P3, and towed just under 12k across the country about 3 months ago. It was a great controller, it was a litle grabby at slow speeds, but that is because Iset it kind of agressive for higher speeds (the majority of my travels). That along with my exhaust brake, and I had a few situations that would have been close calls without them (retards in cars cutting me off in traffic going through cities) and the truck stoped as if it had nothing on it. Getting a good controller is worth every penny.
My controller had a connecter for my truck that connected under the dash, but I would imagine there are some changes from 2003 to 2008.

I installed a Prodigy yesterday using the pigtail for the Dodge. Installation time was less than 5 minutes.
The prodigy is supposed to be the best controler without spending a fortune. My old time based controler was a POS.
