00 diesel 911 911 please try to give adv
Someone please try to help. ANY advise or comments would help... Truck is a 2000 dodge ram sport 2500 diesel... I have replaced the transfer pump. replaced the crankshaft sensor. replaced the fuel filter did full fluid change. rebuilt the turbo. took the air box off and installed a cone filter. resealed the injectors. And it is still hard to start, It turns over about 20 times before starting, everytime... It used to just do it when ever the truck was sitting longer than 15-20minutes.. now it does it every time... no cel's.. someone told me to up the boost some, and maybe that would help build up preasure, so i did 30psi.peak. lol i have almost no lag, but did fix it. heres alitle more info.. truck has a egt gauge. runs about 1000o at 27psi. just did the tranny adjustment (was out 7 turns, im lucky i have a tranny still)( have it at 1 7/8's now)...... please any advise or comments would help.. Thank you in advance...
long crank time could be a sign of a bad vp44. If the lift pump went out, there is a diaphragm that can break inside the vp44 which will drain the fuel out of the fuel line when it sits causing it to be hard starting. What kind of lift pump did you put on there?
i had that kind of troubles when i changed my injectors,i forgot to put a copper washer to seal the injector, its runned really rough and taked a while to restart making beasty look like a worn off truk
