Default Power Problem, Please Help!!!

98 24 valve turbo diesel, manual transmission. In 4th gear, a little in 5th also, my engine revs higher when i hit the pedal, than what my truck will actually go. almost like when your driving and hit a patch of ice, higher rev, truck wont go faster. I changed fuel filter less than a week ago and it seemed fine the next day. then acted up a bit, but not bad as before. installed a hypertech max programmer and then had that same power problem in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear, so i programmed truck back to stock, and now problem is back to 4th gear only. I also changed my crankshaft position sensor within 6 months ago. any clue? please help... [/align]

It sounds to mw like the clutch is slipping. Sounds like you need to baby it until you can get it changed.

In any gear, the truck should accelerate commensurate with an increase in RPM.

Also, The problem doesnt happen during shifting gears, it shifts fine, and the pressure of the clutch pedal is fine. It happens while driving in 4th gear, it will do it multiple times if i hit the gas pedal multiple times in the same gear.

you burnt up your clutch. you have a hyd actuated clutch so you wont notice any diffirence in pedal. turn programer back on and see if more gears slip again.
