Default K&N Filter system

When I bought my 06 3500 It came with the K&N filter system, the whole pipe and all. I didn't like it because this summer I'm going to be in alot of dust. Besides the fact that I don't like the whinning it made going down the highway at 75mph. Get's really annoying. Anyways. DO you guys think I should hang on to it or just put the original airbox on (which I did allready). Is the K&N really worth it? I figure I could probably sell the unit for around $150 or so. Any and all info would be great. Thanks.

Get a dry filter. the only thing you will see different is a little quicker turbo spool and definatly louder. If you do sell it for 150.00 do you have a stock replacement or have you priced them?

Just keep replacement stock filters on hand and you'll be fine. I can't believe you didn't like the sound though. I often drive without having the radio on at all just to hear it.

Unfortunate for me, I was in a very bad car accident back in 1985 and I lost 90% hearing in one ear and about 30% in the other. I also lost the ability to hear sertain sounds. I have a hard time hearing people with high voices and things like the beeping Smoke detector in the house, I can't hear it even if I put my ear to it but it drives everyone else crazy.
What I am getting at is I wish I could hear what you guys do when the turbo spools up. I can hear it but only when it's really spinning. My wife and buddies all can hear it just fine and one even said, damn thats loud! But I couldn't hear ZHIT !!
