hydrogen injection
Just wondering if anyone has looked into or is using a hyrdogen generator yet. I talked to Liberator Diesel Performance out of Carlisle,PA this weekend and he is starting to sell them for around $400 to $500. He talked to a guy with a 98 CTD that was getting 23mpg before hydro and 35mpg after the install.

Italked to this guy again and got a little more in depth. Here is the deal. You use a hydrogen generator to produce hyrdogen gas and inject the gas into you air intake system. The hydrogen gas ignites alot more of the fuel that usually goes out your tailpipe. Which in result creates more power, big jump in mpgs and reduced emissions. The systemwill use distilled vinegar and draw the hydrogen gas out of that. He said one gallon of vinegar will power the system for 2000 miles. The system he is selling will be around 400 dollars for my 99 CTD but some of the newer and bigger engines like the 6.7 or the ford 7.3 may need double hydro generators. I'm going to keepin contact with this guy and find how his trucks doon it. By the way these principals will also work on gas engines.
can you say.... Kaboom !

You couldn't pay me to try and use hydrogen. There's plenty of other methods to gain hp and fuel mileage

that may be the case but, Hydrogen is one of the most folatile gases there is.... I also know someone who's testing out the hydrogen generator. something about mixing baking soda with water creates the gases. I'll stick with the more nonexplosive gases myself :-)
Hydrogen gas is highly flammable and will burn at concentrations as low as 4% H2 in air. The enthalpy of combustion for hydrogen is – 286 kJ/mol;[citation needed] it burns according to the following balanced equation. 2 H2(g) + O2(g) → 2 H2O(l) + 572 kJ/mol When mixed with oxygen across a wide range of proportions, hydrogen explodes upon ignition. Hydrogen burns violently in air
Hydrogen poses a number of hazards to human safety, from potential detonations and fires when mixed with air to being an asphyxant in its pure, oxygen-free form.[36] In addition, liquid hydrogen is a cryogen and presents dangers (such as frostbite) associated with very cold liquids. Hydrogen dissolves in some metals, and, in addition to leaking out, may have adverse effects on them, such as hydrogen embrittlement. Hydrogen gas leaking into external air may spontaneously ignite. However, hydrogen fire, while being extremely hot, is almost invisible, and thus can lead to accidental burns.

IIRC their are a few guys on Cummins Forums who are trying this type of stuff. Here is the URL about it: http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/al...injection.html
