Well heck, when my bro fish tailed his 83 firebird into a telephone pole, we put it between the oaks and pulled her straight again. Since it messed up his American Racing rims, the previous owner had given him two of the original rims with two of the original tires. Aired them up, stuck um on, did a few burn outs, then he drove on them for 3 months till he ran it in a ditch, then came the motor swap into a 84 camaro. Point is, he was running 20 year old tires that performed like new

I agree, cover the tires to keep the sun (uv light) off. UV light will kill a tire. According to the RV industry, (RV's sit more than they are used) they recommend replacing tires at no more than 7 years old regardless of looks, condition, or milage.

You might try 303 Protectant spray on the sidewalls.
