RE: Thanks Dave......but I still hate dealers
Yeah I'd find another dealer. Found one up my way, the service writer owns an "tweaked" 2005 CTD of his own. Enabled my fast idle for free. Considered it something that should have been done from the factory. The flashes fall into the same category as far as I'm concerned.

RE: Thanks Dave......but I still hate dealers
I just pulled this off a TSB.

If your truck is under warranty and you need a flash, it should be free. If your truck is out of warranty, you might have to pay. If you truck is under warranty, but doesn't necessarily need a flash, they might not do it for free. I am able to do the flashes myself and not have to pay a tech. This doesn't always make me popular with the techs, but I do not answer to them. I get paid to make the dealership money, but I also know that you have to take care of your customers. A flash takes usually no more than 10 to 20 minutes. Warranty pays for 24 minutes of labor.
$180.00 is just stupid. That means that they charge $120.00 per hour. I would call another dealer, or drive to Georgia.....
"I ask why it would cost me and they said even though the truck is still under warranty and Chrysler requires the flash the customer still has to pay for it and it would be at their hourly rate."
This is a flat out lie......
