Default fuel used while idleing

Does anyone know how much fuel is used during a 10 minute idle?

Jimmy, as crazy as this sounds, When I went to a diesel school, I was told that you actually use less fuel with the truck idled up just a little than you do at idle. Something about the efficiency.

That would be completely dependant on temperature and RPM... I know that if it is really cold I use my high idle feature....

Been a while since I had the laptop hooked up to a cummins, but I think it was something like 0.33gph at idle.

Thanks. so If I had a alarm that would allow idle time of 10 minutes every two hours I would use aprox 2 gallons every three days. That is the info I was looking for. thanks. Jake

If i were your neighbor and your truck started by itself every 2 hours and ran for 10 minutes each time it started, I'd put a effing BULLET in your truck for sure.

The good news about that is my neighbors on my driveway side are only here one weekend per month. The better news is they and I hate each other. They wrote a 3 page letter to the HOA that I am dropping property value, I work from home and all kinds of stuff. When I had my raptor and they would be here for there weekend I would wake up extra early and go rev it for minutes at a time as I loaded it in my truck, and of course tuned it

I hear ya jimmy. My neighbors have complained about so much crap (trailor on the property, too many cars, yadda yadda) its not even funny. Just to **** them off even more I drive our ranger around the yard a few times. I think the diesel truck in the suburbs put it over the top though,
