Downshifting into 1st gear (auto tranny)
someone asked about downshifting into 1st gear and at what speed you can do it at... I gave it a shot a couple of times, 25, 30 & 35 mph... no problems. went from 3rd, to 2nd and let it finish shifting, then down into 1st... All in Tow/Haul mode...

I do that alot with the work truck being its not mine I wasn't so worried, its a 3500 w/gasser but seems the tranny has a safety built in so it won't just slam first, I use it when slowin down w/a load kinda like gearin down ina manual...work truck ain't broke yet...lol

yeah I figured with the tranny built the way it is, it should handle it. when coming to work there is a slight downhill that can ice up over night... at the bottom is a right hander. I have had some pretty good success slowing the truck down going from 3rd->2nd->1st... I can actually go down the hill & around the corner w/o having to hit the brakes.
