What do you all think?
I'm going to look at a 1996 2500 SLT Cummins today, has 152k on the clock 8' plow single cab 8' bed he has it listed for 7900.00 what do you think it is worth, what should I check or look out for? Thanks for any help everyone Dan-
I would think that with the plow, you're going to see some wear in the front end, so plan on replacing that stuff. The engine should be pretty good to go though--those 12v engines can really rack up the miles
I drove a 99 with 212k on the clock a while back ran great I'm sure it was programmed cause she poured coal and had a boost and pyro on the pillar...it was at a dealer so he knew notta what had all been done on it... BTW they was askin 12,900 and this truck was MINT* condition previous owner had a log of everything (oil, filters, tire rotations, brakes, mpg EVERYTHING!) They'll run forever if your good to em
Is it a manual or auto? With the plow it did a lot of starting and stopping and reverseing. If it is a manual my guess would be the clutch as been replaced. My 99 clutch was replaced at 125,000. Just something to check. As said above, the engine is just broke in.

its an auto, I don't know if it was privately or commerically plowed butI'm really not worried about miles because I know they are trustworthy if they have been maintained etc...it would be the tranny and the rear that would catch my concern. The 96 CTD did have 24v not 12v correct?
