holy crap dude, I'm 20 too and I don't even have close to that kind of money to spend on my truck. What do you do?
I am a door to door salesman for Comcast, AT&T, ADT, others (depends on who is paying more this week). Make some pretty good money in the summer months. This job is not for everyone though. Most people around me make less because there is no set work schedules (we are all independent reps) and they have no desire to work after they get their minimum pay that they desire.

I have never heard of a SUPERCHARGED Diesel.
Many of the older Detroit Diesel engines were supercharged from the factory. The old 71 series had a gear driven Roots-type supercharger.

ITS THE INTERNET MAN!!! EVERYONE HAS MORE MONEY THEN WHAT THEY REALLY DO. Here's a secret for you early 20 somethings. Save your money, buy land. Yeah trucks are fun but you'll never get your money back. FYI its always good to save you money when the economy is "might" take a ****. 7 years ago I was in your guys shoes, Imjust letting you know what I learned.

Good advice. The only reason why I'm looking to get a truck is because I was promised a job with a Comcast contractor doing installs for businesses. With that job I can pay off the full amount of the loan on my truck this summer, and I will end up with a truck that is payed off (that way I can get PLPD insurance to pay less then full coverage) and will last me for a decade because it's a diesel.
I agree 100% with your advice and I am horrified every time I see one of my friends blow their money on something stupid. I keep telling them that no one is going to look after them (SS will be gone, can't rely on relatives) when they get older, but they don't care...

BTW, I am currently driving a 2003 Honda Civic that gets 32 MPG on the highways even if you drive above 70. Before I get a truck I will need to figure out how much I will pay in extra fuel cost... Some actual MPGs from you guys would be nice as I don't trust the EPA estimated numbers.

detroit diesels are supercharged because they are 2stroke diesels not 4stroke. the supercharger is the intake air system. they still put turbo chargers on detroits.
