Hey Parts/Service, I’ve been waiting since the 1st week of November for a drivers side positive battery cable. The dealer told me they are on back order. If you’ve got a minute could you verify that they are made of unobtainium, or am I being jacked around. Thanks.

Looks like they are teling you the truth...There are none in any warehouses and there are only 7 dealers in America with 1 in stock....Usually when things go on backorder, Dodge will do a dealer to dealer referral. Meaning they will try to get a dealer that has one to send it to the dealer that needs it. Call your dealer and ask them to see if they can get it from another dealer. Or PM me the last 8 digits of your VIN and I will get you a dealer's # so you can call them and see if they will send it to your local dealer...DAVID

Wow, do you work on weekends? Thanks for helping out, very cool. I'll give the dealership a call and see what they say. I guess lots of trucks are needing the cable replaced, and that is causing the shortage?

What happened to yours, I have not seen this problem. Maybe I need to try and stock up on them.. LOL I am not at work on the weekends, But I still have access to work info

It was loose so the dealer tried to cut some teeth into the clamp and tighten it, but it is still loose.

at that rate it would be quicker to run to NAPA and get all the cable you need.

what if you removed some of the material where the two sides meet at the front and added a washer to the bolt near the nut. I would think that would squeeze it together more.

Ya, almost three months, I could have ordered a new truck from the factory in that time! Well it's warranty work so I guess I have to wait. If you look carefully, buy the nut, the clamp is ripping apart. I don't think it has enough integrity to make a gas tight seal.

Yeah.. that's one complaint Ido have about dodge... was thier dammmed backorders.... takes forever.... When i bought my 4.7.... within about 2000 miles the EGR valve went... they told me they could'nt get a new one because of this so called back order... but they'd call me when it came in... i think it took almost 2 months.... I had asked why they could'nt just take it out of another truck they had on the lot... and they were like... umm. .. umm... That's not allowed... why disable a truck we "could" sell.... I'm sure they could take care of it in other ways....
