My truck has been parked last 5 days, been real cold up here. Plugged her in this am for about 5hrs, started her up had a small puff of black smoke. i let her idle at 750rpm for about 5mins then kicked on the high idle bumped it up to 1200rpm let her run for 10mins drove to town for supplies. My over head ambient temp started reading about -40deg C same as -40def F a few miles later overhead showed "---" ... I checked outdoor thermometer was reading -45degC light wind, don't even want to guess what the wind chillwas!!!![:-]Thankfully I have a decent winter front!!

 

Where the hell are you that it's -45 ??

 

Hey Splat

It was -28F(-34c) here in Houston B.C. this morning! Had the truck pluged in and started right up as if it was above freezing! Winter front helped it warm up quickly!

 

Northern Alberta, Canada... suppose to be cold like this for next 3 days, norms are around -8degC or about 20degF for this time of year.

When it gets this cold I'm always amazed when ya toss a cup of hot coffee into the air ....it turns to ice before it hits the ground!!

No wind tonight... (thank God!)... just lookng out camp window over towards gas plant watching the exhaust roll off the top of compressor stacks, the exhaust is just oozing out the top and jst haging in the air, lots of "ice fog". Kind of serene, the orange glow from the sodium yard lghts throught exhaust and ice fog, wish me camera was working! [:@]

 

yah my bro is at cfb edmonton he says every one is just kinda hiding from the cold and wind.

 

Its a quarter to 12 midnight here and i just checked -20F outside, with the hurricane wind right now wind chill figures -57F I am so glad my truck is my 65F shop right now, Hope all the glass dont break out when i drive out in the morning!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.N.W. South Dakota.

 

N.C. Mt for the last few day it has been -12 to -15 F with winds of up to 45 mph creating really cold wind chills as well.

 

Its 55f here right now!!! I do not envy y'all one bit!!! Stay warm. Heck it was around 10F here last week and I thought I was gonna die!!!

 

10 F would be nice right now.. let alone 55

 

OMG.....I feel so guilty. It's supose to get down to 70f here today..........LMAO.
