403 miles on the odometer, 22.2gal when pump kicked off = 18.1mpg and I havent been very kind to the throttle lately

smarty SW#4 wild torque management TST 0/0 boost limit off(had to turn it off since all I could make was 22# hammering it)

currently got the TST cranked to 3/2 just to see what happens.

 

Drew, did the pump just kick off or was it topped off. I've noticed the amount of fuel that can still be put in varies because of all the foaming (wish I could stop that).

 

Someone wann explain or link me to a smarty and exactly what it does..thanks.

 

no topping off, this is where the pump kicked off. . .and yes I do know about the idiocy factor of diesel and it will foam at different rates. I know I should go all the way to the top, however this is how Ive been tracking my mileage.


JD, the Smarty is a programmer just like the hyperpack, or superchips, however it is for the Cummins engine only.

just curious on the smarty since it was brought up and i dont feel like searching.....

with add'd timing, will that help keep EGTS down more than a pressure box being that its changing timing instead of squirting more fuel in to create more fire/heat?

 

you are right. . .however a pressure box adds timeing as well, just the nature of the beast. the added timeing means the injector opens sooner, thus the fuel is combusted more inside the cylinder and when the exhaust valve opens it is cooler due to the extended time it spent in the cylinder.
