Default Pro Comp Tires

I tried this in the 2nd gen forum with no luck. Hopefully you guy's can help me out.

I'm thinking that I'm going to go with Cragar's soft 8 rims this time ( Thanks to 59 for being my guinea pig ). I busted up one of my 17" 3rd gen rims, and I can't find a replacement anywhere

Here's the Soft 8

Now my Ram cam stock with 16" wheels, but my 3rd gens are 17". My question is, what size Pro Comp ( looking at the Extreme A/T's based on Steve's mileage) should I go with. I don't want to lift my truck at all ( although now considering it thanks again to 59 [:@]), and I want the best mileage and MPG's as possible.

Here's the run down ...

245/75 16 - 30.5 diameter -This is what my truck came stock with

265/70 17 - 31.6 diameter- This is what I currently have on my Ram

315/75 16 - 34.6 diameter - This is the smallest 16" tire that pro comp makes in 16"

305/65 17 - 32.6 diameter - This is the closest that I can find to what I currently have

Here's the AT's

305/65 17 for your truck and your needs this is what I would get. you tow and you do not off road your truck.

265/70/17 is more then enough tire for your truck. I think any thing bigger may affect your fuel mileage.

do they have all of those sizes in the xtreme at tire? I only saw the 305-17 on their site which is a 31" tire IIRC...

I'm seriously considering it, especially since you've so graciously offered to help me install them ( ), but doesn't leveling your truck drop your mpg's? Also, would that pull my rear down below my nose when I tow? Right now I'm pretty sure that once the trailer is hooked up it levels the truck out.

Looks like the 315/75/16 is a D rated tire while the 305/65/17 is E rated. Personally, I'd go for the E rated especially considering that you tow regularly.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the 305 17" tires. I just wanted to get opinions from people who know a little more about tires than me before I made my decision.

sounds like you are leaning towards the right choice! but mayfair i still say we through a leveling kit on there!!!!! only because i am evil and give you plenty of peer pressure... you could always add them fancy firestone airbags to the rear which are GREAT!! for towing!
