Default 99 CTD 4x4brake problem

Have a 99 CTD 4x4 and have replaced the rotors and calipers and later started having it pull to the left, replaced the calipers again(x2) and used different manufacturer along with the pads and again started pulling to the left after a month and checking if anyone else has had this problem??

Thanks

Hutch

Brake lines !!

I had the same exact problem. Apparently brake lines even though they don't leak or show signs of wear go bad from the inside out and swell up on the inside. They'll look fine from the outside, but inside not enough juice is flowing.

Replace your rubber brake lines. I did mine and it fixed the problem right away. I used Mopar rubber lines again, however next time I'll be useing braided lines. They hold up better.

Good luck !!

Bearing issue--- Yes, when the starting out there is no problem and city driving with stop lights it can start acting up in a good 10 miles and get worse. I did repack the bearings when doing the rotors and good idea but the problem I see with that is when I last replaced the calipers there was alot more dust on the d-side than the p-side not sure if thatcould be a bearing issue??And at times there is a wander effect when stopping not pulling just does not want to stay straight at other times before the pulling starts. I have put a Lukes Link on the panhard(trac bar) which was my last resort. Took it to the dealership and they were dumb founded and told me to contact a local brake place and they said maybe the calipers are not sitting straight. Have tried 3 different sets and 2 different manufacture's. Runs great but when towing it feels a little scary and pulling around 8-10,000 not including the truck and trying to fix before getting something else which is not in the budget.

Dallas - CODE doesn't live in my house, and DOT doesn't rule my ride. If I feel safer with braided, I'm installing them.

Hutch - I'm assumng that you greased the pins on the calipers really well right?

I hear ya Mayfair, they dont rule me either...thats why it pays to know people in the right spot for inspections.....had a long talk one time with a guy from NYS dot, he was updating the machine and he saw the intake manifold with a fogger system on it and he actually had the nerve to tell me that it wouldnt pass emmissions...I laughed in his face and told him that the nos isnt used all the timeand it wouldnt effect the emmissions.....long story short, I walked away from him.....Hutch, have you checked your ball joints, tie rod ends and your trac bar? make sure everything is tight and the alignment is dead on?......Dallas
