if that didnt bring your 48RE to it's knees. . .nothing will. . .50K is a good load even for OTR trucks, much less your tiny 5.9 ISB's.

yeah otr is over the road or on the road trucks, and that basically refers to semi's. And ISB is what your 5.9 Cummins is. Cummins uses that system to identify their engines. Next size up from the ISB is the ISC which is an 8.3L. Then you have the ISL at 8.9L or 10L, ISM at 10.8L, and the ISX at 14.9L. And of course as the displacement goes up, so do the power ratings-the ISX has up to 565hp and 1850lb/ft of torque!

Dunno where yall live or what your local laws are, but here in CA, you gotta have a commercial licence for a GCVW of over 26k lbs. With that said...Our service truck (01 3500 ctd cab n chassis) weighs in at 11k lbs with all my supplies loaded in it (I'm an equipment mechanic), our trailer weighs in at 2500k lbs and the excavator I hauled weighs in at 12k lbs for a grand total of 24,500 lbs. barely under weight. My 2500 CTD hasn't towed anything yet (got it a month ago) but my old 2500 V8 gasser towed the same excavator on the same trailer at a hole 15 mph goin uphill in first gear, damn gas engines
