Default Auto to Manual swap..

very far from happening, but have been looking into it. I added it up. It would cost me around $7,500 with a south bend clutch and everything else being stock. A 6-speed conversion. I would sell my currenty auto tranny with "some" billet parts but isnt a true billet transmission. I think it would be awesome to have a six speed but not sure it is worth it with my truck....anyone ever done this or heard of it being done? looks like a cool install for sure.

I believe it would be easier to BEEF the snot out of your auto..... I love my 6spd but if I was gonna mod my truck,I would want the auto built, simlpy because the 6spd aint the easiest to navigate thru the gears in a hurry. Its a hard tranny to slam into gear in a race, unlike the manual's in the mustangs or vettes. If you got the cash, build it and keep it.

I know that its not the same but it sorta is. I did the auto to manual swap on the "Stang" and it was not that bad. The hardest thing was installing the pedals. I bought a donor can that was wrecked but still had good running gear. Do alot of research first and it won't be that bad.....

i have been looking into it too. jake is doing the convertion soon it think.
yah i got around the same price. it would cost about the same as if i bought a brand new auto that is beefed up. if you did it it would be best just to buy a wrecked manual and just take the parts outta it. in the future when i have money i will be doin the swap.

i agree whit watermelon, its slow to row the gears cuz they got so much to travel between gear and need to be slammed but pretty fun too
