Default Cold air intakes

I was thinking about getting a cold air intake for my 01. right now all i have is the stock air box with a k&n filter in it. i was wondering what the gains would be from an aftermarket and what one you guys thought would be the best. thanks!

lower egt's, faster cool down times. if you go big AND have an open exhaust (other than stock) you may see a dip in low end torque and a bump in upper end hp. (based on my endless messing around with my truck ) it will make it rev easier also.

read this first
before buying:

http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/g...ers/index.html

this is one of the few honest tests
where fresh & new paper filters
are compared to a new out of the box CAI.

if you have read magazine articles
claiming that some air intake improved horsepower
you should know that the 'trick' to this scam
is that the factory paper air filter was restricted
'on purpose' before the dyno test
usually by running the vehicle on dirt roads behind other vehicles
until an OBD-II scanner read of the MAP sensor
showed that a large horsepower gain would be found
when the clogged paper filter was replaced
by a fresh out of the box CAI.

Don't be a sucker.
