Default RE: Fuel pressure gauge

sorry to be so long guys, i'm in the tail end of a move i have never done, been in the same house since 1951, so you can imagine the **** i have to go through. if you look at mayfairs post, the column pod i have is on the opposite side, the fourway flasher is on the right of mine, then imagine the pod on your own column, it is not cluttered and i am glad for the info posted on this forum to aid me in the purchase, when we get more settled i can/will post a pic if still needed.

Where is the best place to hook a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on a 97? I can also use some info on how the lift pump and injection pump work together and how much fuel pressure each delivers. This 97 is the first diesel I have owned and I am sorting out some power issues on the truck.

Default gauge is good

the gauge is good because if the fuel pressure gets below 6 psi your pump will burn up

Definitely get the fuel pressure gauge. My in-tank lift pump only lasted 30,000 mlies. I went to a FASS and will hopefully never have to worry about it again. Good luck.

Are you guys using a boost guage from 0-35 for the fuel pressure guage? If I do a search that is what comes up.

fuel pressure gauge is different than boost gauge. Look at genos garage site or summit. I have the autometer phantom series in my truck they match the factory 07 gauges well.

I have the Glacier set up with the Walboro pump and I have a Led on the dash that lights up when the fuel pressure is below 5psi

The fuel pressure guage from auto meter with a 1/8 NPT sender and wiring is the correct kit? There are a few on EBAY for 165.00, the light II guage with the 1/8 NPT sender and 8ft wiring harness. Geno's garage is 222.00. Just making sure this is what I need. Thanks for the help

Sounds right to me. You also need a tapped banjo bolt or a tapped fuel filter lid to hook the line to. If you look on geno's garage you'll see what I mean. Wether you buy it there or not.
