Ram Cummins 'upcomins'
Howdee, I am about to buy yet another Dodge (my last was a '59 Custom Royal). This is an '01 2500 Cummins with 160k on the odo. Is there anything I should be looking for as far as upcoming work or troubles with these miles? It's been taken well care of, and I want to keep it that way. Starters? Alternators? Injectors or Pump? Thanks

RE: Ram Cummins 'upcomins'
She's still an infant at 160,000 if it was taken care of. The main problem with the second gen cummins is the lift pump. My 99 has 90,000 mi and is on its 3rd pump. Does this truck have gauges? (fuel, boost and pyro) With the fuel pressure guage you can monitor this prob and take care of it before you starve your vp44(injection pump at a cost of around 3,000), the lift pump is $160.00. Overall this is a great rig.
