Default surging

since i bought my 01 i have noticed that everyonce in a while when i am going around 40 mph steady and running on a flathighway the rpms will start to surge. i was wondering what everyone thought could be wrong with it? the adrenaline should be in soon so will it fix this or make it worse? itdid it before i installed the airdog and still is after installing it so i don't think that it should have anything to do with it. my sig has all of the current upgrades on the truck.
thanks for any help!

yup, it does... I'll bet your throttle position sensor is dirty... there is a post in the 2nd gen ram forum on how to clean it. Look at the top of the forum for the DIY writeup threads and look towards the bottom of the index... it'll point you to the link at the bottom of the post.

I bet your torque converter is locking & unlocking... 200~300 rpm surge?

in that diy it says that it is for all of the gas engines so does the 5.9 diesel have a tps as well that needs cleaning? i haven't really noticed the rpm gauge move much when it does it but it is just annoying to listen to especially when i know it isn't supposed to do it.

clean the main ground wires from the batteries. . .I bet they are corroded or have some corrosion on them.

the diesels have to have one... I havent looked for mine yet but there has to be a sensor to tell the pcm the throttle position. if your rpms are not jumping then it's probably not the problem.

Yep, that's what it is.I had the same exact problem. Clean up your grounds and you'll be good as new.

BTW: Don't forget the one going to the block
