ot...lucas oil residue.....
I changed the oil in my 1959 baja today. no , cummins not installed..YET!
oil drained out looking normal. no sign of water intrusion.
in the filler neck, I found a gelled white substance that looks like old lUCAS oil.
I tried lucas in the dub last fall, but had to drain it and flush it all out.
even had small white residue areas in the valve covers today and last week when I adjusted the valves.
figured I would mention what seems to be a LUCAS malfunction...
anyone else try lucas at all?????

Do you happen to have alot of humidity where your at? When I adjust my valves the water form the air mixes with the oil and creates a white substance like what you describe. No I dont use lucas.

I live in the desert southwest. we have had rain every 7 - m10 days over the past month. I have been driving it to work every day over 30 miles round trip on the freeway. yes, the baja roars at a good 70 mph ..

I've never used Lucas oil additive but I have used there fuel additve in my truck with out any problems. I also use it in the wifes car once a month and it always brings her fuel mileage back up 1.5-2 mpg.
