Default Need opinions...

Saw this on another forum and decided I wanted to do this to my mirrors. Already ran one wire thru the mirror (what a pain[:@][:@]) but I wanted 2nd opinions before I make permanent holes in the mirror housing.

The lights will be wired to flash with the turn signals and stay on with the driving lights.

What do you guys think?

I will tell you one thing, fishing that wire thru the mirror arm was not fun. I ended up taking the mirror off and working on it on the bench in my shop.

I will have complete pictures of the whole process when it's finished

I like the idea. Would match my clearance lights nicely! May have to borrow your idea. Where'd you find the lights?

Got the lights from JC Whitney. They are LED lights sealed in a vinyl tube with supposedly 40K hrs of bulb life.

300189 STRIP LIGHT 3" Black/Amber
2 @ Total Price:$11.98

320624 STRIP LIGHT 6" Back/Amber
2 @ Total Price:$13.98

I am taking pictures of the whole process so when I am done I will post step by step including how to get the mirror glass off

Really like the lights on the side but the ones on top might get a little annoying on your eyes at night, looks good! great idea!

Great idea! I am very interested to see your DIY. This will be done to my truck, just a matter of when.
