Default 08 6.7 exhaust

Is there an way to make the new 2008 6.7 trucks louder without taking out the emission stuff. MBRP make a (filter-back) system which is only a muffler delete. I dont want the truck to be really loud I just want to get a little of that cummins sound

i wouldnt touch it if you wreck the particulate filter it is 1200 dollars. nobody has any chips-performance things for the6.7 because its hard to bypass the emmisions componets- new gov regs.

just taking the muffler off shouldnt mess with the filter at all it would just change the sound and exhaust flow

the cat DPF has been defeated. . .for the most part. the kit is still in the testing phase. it does make the truck louderand give it that Cummins sound.

I believe bully dog has a programmer for the 6.7's. and I know Mads Electronics(Smarty) is also working dilligently on a programmer for the 6.7's.

Taking the muffler out does change the sound a bit. To get a little rumble out of the one we had the muffler got dropped and the exhaust got moved to in front of the rear axle. It helped a bit. Still not nearly as loud as my 5.9 straight piped but at least it sounded more like a diesel.

All I can say is if you use a programmer like the Edge on the 6.7 then you can kiss your warranty good by. It’s been passed on to me that Dodge has installed new code and if you use a programmer it will be found. BTW Dodge now sends a copy of the ECM to Cummins when certain things happen and they will find if Dodge was to miss it. I hope the info given to me is wrong but I don’t think it is.

I just purchased a 2007 6.7 2500 with 25000 on it. I have been to the dealer 3 times this week regarding the emissions and codes. They found that the muffler had been removed by the original owner and told me that the DPF needs the muffler. It places the proper airflow and pressure on the DPF to make it work. Of coarse I spent $240 to replace the muffler and then drove ten miles before the engine light came on again. I hope the fourth time in a week is the trick.

Just in the sept edition of D performance magazine and they compared teh 6.7 to the 5.9 and did an S+b air filter and silverline exhaust back from the particulate filter. It made and extra 45hp and 115 lbs or TQ. this one had no muffler. is that still street legal?
