I'm happy i'm only paying $3.50 now. I'm sure next year this time we'll be paying allot more, and everybody will be saying, "remember last yeardeisel wasONLY $3.50 a gallon." Get use to it.

I saw $3.95 a gallon right off the freeway on the way to work... IDK how they stay in business... 4 miles in either direction & it's 0.30 cheeper...

I've been paying at or around 3.50 for over a year now. I got it once for 3.07 about a month ago but then a week later it was over 3.20. It was just a fluke that I hit it when it was down.

I'm sure by summers end I'll be paying $4

You can thank the people who heat their homes with heating oil for the high price of diesel in the winter time. Mainly in the north east. With it being so much more than natural gas, propane and electricity I don't know why anyone would use it to heat their home.

I live in the NE and there are people here who still heat with oil, but what get's me is that that's nothing NEW. The people here who heat with oil have ALWAYS heated with oil !! Many have switched to gas, and NOBODY is building houses that use oil as a heating source, so where is all of this alleged "increased" demand comming from?

ORIGINAL: KenZ

One station a mile away it is $3.59. One 9 miles away it is $3.43. It pays to look around. Gas is at $3.19 as of 2 days ago. I got a 4cyl. 2wd S-10 that I use for work and short trips since it gets around 25-27 mpg. Diesel may be a bit more than gasoline, but here anyways it does not bounce around alot like gas. They say it goes up in the winter because of the higher demand for heating oil. How many people still use heating oil? There isn't anyone around me that uses it anymore. Got a friend that installed a new furnace a few years back and switched from heating oil to propane. He just filled up his pig a few weeks ago at $3.69 gal. He is now installing a corn stove!!!!!!
Your buddy is going to get screwed again. Corn is around $5/ busshel. A couple of years ago when corn was dirt cheap, having a corn stove was the way to go. Now, many people I know that have them can't afford to use them anymore. My brother-in-law has one, but he is using wood pellets now. He buys a whole pallet of it at a time and gets a deal on it.

I paid $3.52 yesterday and thought that I got a deal. Unfortunately, I have a fuel station right by my house for about $3.80 a gal. I try to plan my trips so I don't have to pay it. I might be running red fuel as I have a few places to get it. Its just a gamble. I will wait until I stop hauling my trailer as much and then run it.
