Default power surge?

so every once in a while when my truck is idling it will surge? you know a regular idle then it picks up a little then it drops again. Any ideas on what causes this? My buddy is a diesel mechanic so when he gets back this weekend I am going to have him look at it. If he thinks its something serious it'll go to the dealer soon. What do you think?

But I wouldn't think that it would do it repeatedly like it has been. I don't know.

Nah, I don't have the Jake.

Shoot I thought you weren't coming back out here again? Well, if I wasn't so damn busy right now I'd say we could get together a grab a beer. If your still gonna be here this weekend and you want to try the Dublin hooters or something let me know.

Is it cold outside when it surges? Are you in Park or Nuetral when it does it?

The 3rd gens will idle up when they are cold.

Fuel Control Actuator. it lives on the back side of the CP3 and controls the fuel through the CP3.

sometimes a burr develops on the cylinder and causes it to stick open, or closed. this will either cause the engine to rev sparaticaly, or not at all.
