Default RE: Fuel Filter Change Interval

The manual says every 15K but they released a TSB and updated that to every 10K make sure to use a 7micminimum. I do mine every 5K along with the oil change. It's easy to remember, do, and the filters are cheap. I also noticed after my first FF change a better throttle reponse andslight increase in power. The old filter didn't look so bad other than discolored and there was no sludge in there but the new one was noticeably better.

What's the TSB number? I must of missed the one that said the filter had to be changed out at 10K.

I bought a brand new 2006 5.9 last year and ran it until 23k. It started shifting funny and figured maybe the filter was staving the motor for fuel. Seemed to fix the problem.

I read this post earlier today and decided to change mine with the help of the DIY thread at the top (awesome how too). 12K on it since I bought it used. (prev owner left a new filter for me and I assume changed them regularly)The one that came out was solid black. I'm going to do mine at oil change intervals as the cost is low.

It was posted on DTR late '06 or early '07 seems like about the time they also said to use a 7 micron filter instead of 10.Might even be that sameoneI dunno. I don't keep the numbers for them in my head. I only remembered what wasin the postwhen I read it and filed it away in the noggin. Dosome searchinglol... Or maybe Parts/Service with hisknowledgecould settle this with an answer rightoff the top of his headbut he probably doesn'tcheck every thread...

I've read TSB #14-007-06 the one about changing over to the 7 micron fuel filter and no where does it say to shorten the fuel filter life from 15K to 10K.

I used this web page for TBS info: http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2006/14-007-06.htm

I change the fuel filter with my oil change interval 7500miles. I would rather spend a few extra $$$ and be safe, than sorrry.

I always carry an extra filter for those "just in case" moments.
