Default Fuel Filter Change Interval

How often should I replace the fuel filter in my truck (listed in my sig). The service department said that I need to replace it every 10,000 miles. Is this correct because it doesn't match the manual.

At 20,000 mine was completely black, pleats and tips. At 10,000 mi the filter has black tips and pleats still original color + or - few shades.
I go about 15,000, or every other 7,500 mi oil change is a good rule.
Even black at 20,000 miles I had no problems, and believe that it would go 30,000 IMHO

10K is fine. my last change was 15K and it was well overdue for a change.

First time owning a diesel. The maintenance schedule appears to be completely useless so far. Man, any else lagged?

Fuel filters are once again one of those easy, inexpensive things to do, so there's no reason to put it off. Every 10K sounds good to me.

If you have a truck with a VP44 on it, you may want to up the interval to less than 10k. I have never had a fuel filter on my truck long enough to get 10k out of it.

Minex has an 06, so he should have the CP-3, not the 44
