i installed guages and my tranny temp is acting up it fluctuates from over 300 degrees to nothing. is this a bad probe? bad ground? taped into wrong wiere?


any help would help.

 

your tranny temp gauge should have it's own sensor, you can probe the wire and see if the value is fluctating, if it's not and the gauge is acting up at the time, then check your power & ground to the gauge. if those are good then it's your gauge being bad.

 

o the stock wiring was not long enought to reach my transmission so i had to extend the wire probly 2 feet could that have a effect?

 

Could be a bad connection either at the gauge our the sending unit. Is yours a one wire or two wire sending unit?

 

2 wire. your talking about coming from the probe right?

 

yeah, I would assume one of those wires has a bad connection or a break in it.

 

yah tomorow i will check my connections when i lengthend the wires.
